TerraCorps
Based on a 2008 CommonwealthCorps program designed at Mount Grace, TerraCorps was established in 2010, then titled the Massachusetts Land Initiative for Tomorrow (MassLIFT), under the leadership of Mount Grace. This AmeriCorps program is a collaborative effort of regional conservation organizations seeking to build public support for land conservation, increase regional conservation capacity, strengthen land stewardship, and provide opportunities for youth to connect with nature and engage in service learning
In 2018, TerraCorps successfully “spun off” from Mount Grace developing its own 501C3 status and moving to new headquarters in Lowell, MA. TerraCorps is an independent nonprofit working at the intersection of the land trust and urban agriculture movements to create a future where land is the foundation of health and well-being for all people in every community.
Mount Grace continues as a host site for new teams of TerraCorps members who will support our mission each year. Our TerraCorps members do innovative work in land stewardship, regional collaboration, and youth education.
