Project Manager

The Project Manager will report to the Conservation Director. Primary responsibilities include all aspects of land protection including conservation prioritization, outreach to deed holders, project diligence, and fundraising. The Project Manager needs to be passionate about the impacts of land conservation on our climate, protection of biodiversity, farm viability, rural economies, and community. The project manager will play a critical role in keeping Mount Grace’s land conservation work real, relevant, and vital for the people who live, work, and play in the communities we serve.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage land protection projects in accordance with Land Trust Alliance Standards and Practices, including coordinating diligence activities, preparing maps and budgets, negotiating with deedholders, writing grants, and collaborating with legal counsel to draft conservation restrictions and other instruments.
  • Build and sustain relationships with landowners, community members, volunteers, and other partners, including land trusts, state agencies, Indigenous partners, businesses, and municipal commissions and boards.
  • Engage with Mount Grace staff, Board, and TerraCorps members to implement organizational priorities, including annual fundraising, major events, and special projects.

 

Required Skills

  • Basic mapping (ArcGIS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Experience or familiarity with land protection project management in Massachusetts

 

This position will involve a mix of remote, in-office, and off-site fieldwork, along with occasional evening and weekend meetings or events. The salary is commensurate with experience and is based on our 36-hour work week. It will range between $50,000 – $70,000. Mount Grace offers a competitive benefits package.
