From Big to Small: A Landmark Year for Mount Grace
This year, we’ve completed two significant projects – one of our smallest and one of our largest!
Working in partnership with community and conservation organizations in Barre, MA, we protected more than 800-acres of working and natural lands. This landscape-scale project – known as the Hawes Hill Conservation Corridor – supports local farms, ensures access to clean drinking water and connects thousands of acres of adjacent wildlife habitat. In total, there are eight properties protected in this project, four of which are held by family farms.
In Royalston, we protected 0.19 acres by partnering with the town to take the first step to ensure that the site of the beloved Pete & Henry’s restaurant be transformed into a town park. Both amazing projects exemplify that conservation is at its strongest when it’s driven by community and friends finding common purpose.
