On December 4, Mount Grace hosted a free resource fair to connect Massachusetts' agricultural community with resources provided by non-profit agricultural stakeholders and government partners. Before gathering for a resource expo at Red Apple Farm’s Brew Barn, we had an amazing time learning about soil health from the incredible Sam Glaze-Corcoran and Arthur Siller of UMass Extension.

“It was amazing to see the level of collaboration between local, regional and national resource providers including the American Farmland Trust, whose grant funding made this event possible,” says Tyson Neukirch, Farm Conservation Program Manager at Mount Grace. “The fair was a great opportunity to combine hand-on learning with some practical solutions for improving soil health.”

After the event, we followed up those that attended the fair and the feedback they gave was overwhelmingly positive. “It was a good mix of learning and networking with both farmers and those tabling – I made some really great connections today,” said one respondent. When asked what improvements could be made for future events, one respondent jokingly replied, “A warmer day. But otherwise, it was great.”

Thank you to all our fantastic resource providers and a special thanks to Red Apple Farm for being the perfect hosts for this event. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
